     A digital computer is a programmable device e.g. computers used for business purposes, where data are entered in the from of alphabets and digits. Digital computer are further subdivided into categories on the basic of and capabilities.

*  Mini Computer,
*  Main Computer,
*  Super Computer.

    The impact of the digital computer on society has been tremendous. It is used to run everything from spacecraft to factories , health care systems to telecommunications, banks to household budgets. A Digital computer can be considered as a digital system that performs various computational tasks. Since its invention during World War II, the electronic digital computer has become essential to the economies of the developed world. The first electronic digital computer was developed in  1940 and was used primarily for numerical computations. The digital computers use the binary number system, which has two digits: 0 and 1. A binary digit is called a bit.



    The concept of number system is extremely useful in the Information Technology to there number system are-
