What is Mini-Computer & Main-Computer? Explain it.

Mini-Computer:-

It is a multi user system. We can connect more than one derminal in the same Central Processing Unit. This is the main unit of Computer, which is being responsible for processing. (Terminal = Monitor + Keyboard). We can connect maximum 16 terminal to the same CPU (Central Processing Unit).

Mini Computer is much more powerful and faster than micro-computer. Minicomputers marked not just a technical development, but also an economic and organizational one. Mainframes were extremely large and expensive machines, and typically only the largest organizations had more than one.

Main Computer :-

It is also a multi  user system and much more powerful then the Mini Computer. Large-scale Storage Management, and DistributionMainframes can deliver data on demand across a large organization,  administer multiple working group servers and multiple clients through a command interface from the central server.

Type of Main-Computer :-

*  Main or Primary Memory*  Cartridge Loader and Printers*  Disk Drives*  Cluster Controllers*  Display Stations*  Operator Console*  I/O Channel*  Central Processing Unit (CPU)*  Storage Controller*  Magnetic Tape Subsystems*  Direct Access Storage Device (DASD) units
